This FAQ covers the questions students most often need answered before learning, practising, opening an exam profile, buying Premium or contacting support.
Getting started
Should a beginner start with Learn Typing or Typing Practice?
If you still search for keys or are not comfortable with the layout, start with Learn Typing. Timed practice becomes more useful once basic key control is reasonably comfortable.
Can I use Typing Practice without choosing an exam?
Yes. General Typing Practice is for skill-building. Use Exam-wise Practice when you want the settings and profile of a particular recruitment.
Why are learning, practice and exam mode separate?
They solve different problems. Learning teaches key control, general practice develops speed and accuracy, and exam-wise practice applies the available rules of a selected recruitment.
English and Hindi typing
Which English typing method is used?
The English learning path is based on standard QWERTY touch-typing practice. Recruitment-specific settings can still vary by exam.
What is Mangal/InScript?
Mangal is a commonly used Unicode Hindi font and InScript is a standard keyboard layout used for Hindi input. If a recruitment specifies Unicode/InScript, practise that workflow rather than assuming a legacy layout will be accepted.
What is Kruti Dev/Remington?
Kruti Dev/Remington refers to a different legacy-font keyboard workflow. It should be practised separately from Unicode/InScript because the key mapping and typing habits are different.
Can I switch between Mangal and Kruti Dev for any exam?
Only if the recruitment permits the method you choose. Always check the latest official instruction for the real examination.
Speed, accuracy and mistakes
What does WPM mean?
WPM is a speed measure for the attempt. It is useful when you compare similar test durations and input methods.
Is one high WPM score my real typing level?
Not necessarily. A stable pattern of attempts with good accuracy is usually more useful than one unusually high score.
Why should I look at accuracy as well as speed?
A fast attempt with many errors may not be exam-ready. Accuracy helps show whether speed is being maintained cleanly.
Why does duration matter?
A short test checks quick rhythm. A longer test also tests concentration, reading flow and stamina.
General Typing Practice
What is the difference between Easy, Moderate and Hard?
Difficulty can change sentence structure, punctuation, numeric density, unfamiliar wording and overall reading/typing pressure. Use a level that challenges you without destroying accuracy.
Should I change settings every attempt?
If you are comparing progress, keep duration and major settings similar. Constantly changing everything makes the result harder to compare.
What is Fresh Practice?
Fresh Practice provides additional unseen practice where the feature is enabled. It is a practice tool, not a separate official exam profile.
Can I choose a custom word length?
Premium Fresh Practice can provide a custom word target where that control is enabled within the configured minimum and maximum range.
Exam-wise Practice
What does “Verified Profile” mean?
It means the profile has stronger source support for the rule information shown. The recruiting authority’s latest instruction still remains final.
What does “Practice Configuration” mean?
It means the profile is useful for preparation, but a complete current official rule set has not been established for every configured field.
Why can two exams have different typing screens or settings?
Recruitments can differ in duration, target speed, language, input method, Backspace, passage handling and evaluator logic. One generic screen cannot represent every exam correctly.
Where can I see the rule source?
Use the Rules / Source action on the exam profile where available. The page should show the status and source-related information stored for that profile.
Does LV Typing guarantee the official exam will look exactly the same?
No. The official authority controls the actual exam software and instructions. LV Typing provides preparation based on the available profile and evidence.
Accounts and saved progress
Do I need an account for every feature?
No. Some public learning and practice can be available without an account. An account is used for saved progress, Premium entitlement and other account-based features.
Why should I verify my email?
Email verification helps connect the account to a working address and supports safer account and support flows.
What if I cannot log in?
Use the account recovery options first. If the problem remains, contact support from the registered email and explain what happens when you try to sign in.
Premium
What does Premium add?
Premium is for the additional practice volume and Premium-only features shown on the current Premium page. Always check the plan page before purchase for the current price, duration and benefits.
Does Premium renew automatically?
Unless checkout explicitly says otherwise, the displayed plans are one-time purchases for the stated validity period rather than automatic subscriptions.
Can I use Premium on another device?
Sequential use on another device is allowed, but the Premium system can enforce one active Premium session at a time. A new Premium login can invalidate the earlier active session.
Can a 100% coupon activate Premium?
Yes, where an eligible 100% coupon is configured for the selected plan. No payment gateway charge is required for that free activation.
Payments and refunds
What if money is deducted but Premium does not activate?
Contact support with the registered account email and available Razorpay order/payment reference. The transaction should be reconciled before any manual access decision is made.
What if I am charged twice?
Send both available payment/order references so support can check whether a duplicate captured charge occurred.
Are Premium purchases refundable?
Premium is digital access. Voluntary change-of-mind or non-use after successful activation is generally not refundable, while billing errors, duplicate charges, unresolved non-delivery and serious verified service problems are reviewed under the Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable law.
How long does an approved refund take?
After a refund is processed, the time taken to appear depends on Razorpay, the bank, card network, UPI provider or other payment participant.
Privacy and security
Does LV Typing need my banking password or OTP?
No. Never send a password, OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN/CVV or banking password through the Contact form, email or chat.
Does LV Typing store typing results?
Eligible logged-in attempts can save result information such as practice/exam reference, duration, WPM, accuracy, mistakes and result status. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
Does the site use cookies?
Essential cookies can be used for login and security, and other cookies or similar technologies may be used for analytics or advertising where configured and legally permitted. See the Cookie Policy.
Support and corrections
How do I report a wrong exam rule?
Send the recruitment/post name and, where possible, an official notice or source link. This helps verify the issue before changing the profile.
How do I report a technical problem?
Tell us the page, device/browser, what you clicked, what you expected and what actually happened. A screenshot is useful for visual issues.
What is the support email?
