Read the profile before you start the test.
Cards can show language, available duration/speed information and Hindi input mode. Profiles with adequate evidence are kept separate from Practice Configurations so an unverified setting is not presented as official fact.
Available recruitment rules are attached to the profile and the real authority notice remains final.
The screen remains useful for practice, but incomplete current rules are not claimed as final official settings.
Open the rule page when you want to see the status, source reference and configured profile details.
Choose the exam first, then practise the settings that belong to that profile.
Exam-wise Practice exists because typing recruitments are not all the same. One test may be English-only, another may require Hindi, and another may permit both. Duration, speed requirement, input method, Backspace behaviour and evaluation can also differ. A single generic typing box should not be presented as an exact simulation of every recruitment.
Read the profile status before you rely on the settings
LV Typing separates stronger rule evidence from practice-only configurations. A profile may be marked as verified, official-rule based or practice-oriented depending on the evidence available for the current published setup. A Practice Configuration is useful for preparation, but it should not be interpreted as a promise that the real examination will use the same settings.
The latest notification, skill-test instruction or other direction issued by the recruiting authority remains the final reference. If a rule changes after a profile is published, the authority's current instruction takes priority.
Check the language and Hindi input method
Do not assume that every Hindi typing test uses the same keyboard workflow. Where the profile has a Hindi setting, check whether the available information points to Mangal/InScript, Kruti Dev/Remington or another permitted method. Practising the wrong layout can make a high practice speed irrelevant to the intended test.
Check duration and speed in the same unit
Some recruitments describe typing in WPM, while others may refer to key depressions or a passage requirement. Read the profile carefully instead of converting every examination into one universal target. The result screen should be interpreted according to the evaluator attached to the selected profile.
Backspace, highlighting and correction rules can change the strategy
Backspace rules can affect how aggressively a student corrects errors. Highlighting or auto-scroll can also change the typing experience. These behaviours are part of the profile only where they are configured; they should not be assumed to be universal exam features. Use the profile's Rules/Source area before a serious practice session.
How to use exam practice effectively
- Confirm the recruitment and language you actually need.
- Read the available rule/source information before starting.
- Practise general accuracy first if basic keyboard control is still weak.
- Use several normal attempts rather than judging your level from the single highest score.
- Compare like with like: same exam profile, language and similar duration.
- Re-check the official instruction before the real examination.
For the way LV Typing handles sources and uncertain rules, read the Editorial & Exam Source Policy. If you find an outdated rule, send the recruitment name and an official source through Contact Support.
Use general practice before exam mode when the keyboard is still weak
Exam mode is most useful after basic key control is already comfortable. If you are still searching for common letters, Hindi matras or punctuation, start in Learn Typing or General Practice and repair that weakness first. When you return to the exam profile, the result will tell you more about the actual timing and rules instead of simply measuring keyboard hesitation.
This is especially important when a recruitment has a longer duration. A weak layout may feel manageable for one minute and then produce many mistakes as concentration drops.
Do not convert every speed rule into one universal number
Some recruitments describe performance in words per minute, some in key depressions, and some by a passage or evaluator-specific method. Keep the unit used by the profile and the official instruction in view. An approximate conversion may be useful for rough practice, but it should not replace the recruitment's stated method when qualification depends on that method.
Where LV Typing uses a specific evaluator, read the result in the context of that selected exam profile rather than comparing it blindly with another exam's score.
What to check before a serious mock attempt
- Confirm the exam/post and language.
- Check whether the profile is verified, official-rule based or a Practice Configuration.
- Read duration, target speed or key requirement in the unit shown.
- Check the Hindi input method where relevant.
- Read Backspace/correction behaviour and any evaluator notes.
- Use a device and keyboard setup you can control comfortably.
- After the attempt, review accuracy and mistakes as well as the headline speed.
Repeat normal mock attempts under the same profile before changing strategy. One unusually easy passage or one unusually high score should not decide your preparation plan.
Official information can change after a practice profile is published
Recruiting authorities can issue revised notices, admit-card instructions, skill-test directions or clarifications after an initial notification. That is why LV Typing keeps practice-only profiles distinct from stronger verified rule profiles. Before the real examination, check the latest official instruction even if you have used the same practice profile for weeks.
If you find an official change, use the Contact page to send the recruitment name and the source. The goal is to correct the profile without silently presenting an uncertain or outdated rule as official.
Use the final week to reduce surprises, not to learn a new keyboard
Close to the real test, keep the required language and input method stable. Use the relevant profile for normal-length attempts, review the rules again and spend short sessions repairing only the mistakes that still repeat. Switching to a different Hindi layout or radically changing technique in the final days can make a familiar movement less reliable. The last week is better used for consistency, rule verification and calm repetition.
Separate rule verification from typing performance
If an exam profile has an uncertain rule, do not compensate by guessing during practice. Keep two questions separate: “What is the latest reliable rule?” and “How well can I type under the configuration currently shown?” This makes it easier to update the profile later without confusing a rule correction with a change in typing skill.
For the real test, the recruiting authority remains final. A practice profile is valuable because it helps rehearse a known or clearly labelled configuration, not because it replaces an official notice.
Rehearse the complete start-to-finish routine
In the final phase of preparation, practise the full sequence you expect on test day: read the profile, confirm language and layout, begin at a controlled pace, avoid panic after one mistake, and finish the complete duration. Students who practise only short speed bursts can be surprised by the concentration required in a longer skill test.
After the attempt, review the same measures each time so that one unusually high number does not hide a repeated accuracy or correction problem.
