What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website or service can store in a browser. Cookies can support login, security, remembering choices, measuring performance, fraud prevention and advertising.
Essential cookies
WordPress and related website components may use essential cookies to keep a student signed in, protect forms and maintain secure sessions. Blocking these cookies can prevent account features from working correctly.
Functional storage
Some interface preferences, such as selected typing settings or accessibility choices, may be stored locally in your browser. This storage normally remains on the device/browser until it expires or you clear it.
LV Typing visitor identifier
When local visitor analytics or plugin-managed advertising traffic-safety is enabled, LV Typing may set a first-party cookie named lvts_visitor_id. It contains a randomly generated identifier and can be set for up to about 400 days unless cleared sooner. The local analytics table uses a one-way keyed hash derived from that identifier to count visits/pageviews and support abnormal-refresh safeguards; the local visitor table is designed not to store raw IP addresses.
Analytics
If local or third-party analytics is enabled, technical information about page visits and device/browser behaviour may be processed to understand website use, reliability and performance. Analytics must be configured in accordance with the consent and privacy requirements that apply to the visitor.
Advertising cookies and technologies
If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and approved advertising technology providers may use cookies, IP addresses, web beacons or similar technologies for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency control, measurement and, where permitted, personalisation. Advertising technology is subject to provider policies and the consent choices that apply to the visitor.
Consent choices
Where law or Google’s publisher requirements call for consent, an appropriate consent-management solution should be used before the relevant advertising or measurement storage is activated. A policy page does not replace a consent-management platform.
Live typing workspace and Premium
The LV Typing plugin is designed not to intentionally load its AdSense script in the focused live typing-test workspace. Plugin-managed advertising is also intended to remain off for administrators and active Premium users.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies using your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, sign-in and account functions may stop working. Clearing lvts_visitor_id can cause the browser to receive a new random visitor identifier later if the relevant LV Typing analytics/traffic-safety feature is enabled.
